Audi tuning & wheels.
Just like other manufacturers, Audi AG also looks back on a long and sometimes difficult company history. August Horch was after the separation from his A.Horch & Cie engines works in Zwickau in the search for a new company name and so it can that a son of a friend heard the imperative singular of the Latin word for, Audi, as a proposal. In 1910 Audi Automobilwerke GmbH Zwickau was registered in the commercial register. In 1928, the company was founded by Zschopauer Motorenwerke J.S. Rasmussen AG, which was particularly known for the DKW brand. Until the beginning of war the models C from 1913, the type SS in 1930 and the model 920 in 1939 had been produced. After the end of the second world war, Auto Union GmbH, headquartered in Ingolstadt, was founded in 1949.
Initially, models for the DKW brand were still developed there, and only 16 years later did the Audi brand be used again. In 1969 the company merged with NSU AG, based in Neckarsulm. Both brand names merged with Audi NSU Auto Union AG. In the history of both companies there are classics such as the F103, which was later available in the designation Audi 60 and Audi Super 90, the RO80, the NSU prince and the DKW front car. From the end of the sixties, the Audi models carried simple names, e.g. Audi 100, Audi 50, Audi 80 and Audi 90.
The Audi 100 is today called A6, the Audi 80 as A4 and the luxury version V8, which has been available since the end of the 80s, is offered today as the top version A8. With the acquisition by Volkswagen AG, the expansion of the same platforms and engines for VW, Bentley, Lamborghini, Seat, Skoda and Audi models began in 1999. With the A3, the first compact car from the Audi portfolio was based on the floor and engine group of the then VW Golf IV. From this successful synergy, modular systems for the production of all models of the Group Group grew. Thus it was also possible to place in all niche models.
Today, the Audi model range includes 13 different types, which are further subdivided by S and RS designations. The numbers of new registrations in Germany are growing steadily since 2003, worldwide and particularly in the USA and China, annual records for jubilation in Ingolstadt. Wheelsandmore from Baesweiler has also been dedicated to the S and RS models for many years and now has an extensive tuning portfolio for the vehicles from the RS4, RS5 and RS6 series. In 2007, the tuner developed the multi-piece forged rims, especially for the Audi R8, which at that time was already a multi-piece forged, and presented exhaust exhaust systems, which had to be switched by volume. Chassis solutions from H & R and also KW supplemented the tuning portfolio, whereby the hydraulically adjustable coilover from KW represented the TOP solution for the noble vehicle.
R&D for Audi Tuning
Wheelsandmore played a key role in the development of the HLS chassis and provided valuable data, especially for the development and adjustment of the system for the V10 and the V10 Spyder. In 2010, Wheelsandmore was once again the world’s first tuner to present the 338-piece GT version of the R8. Even the Spyder variant, which was only available a year later, did not leave the company from Baesweiler near Aachen unaffected. In addition to the special model Four30 the refiner also built various individualized 20 inch rims of the series 6Sporz and later 6Sporz² for the R8 GT. Spectacular and costly was the conversion of an ordinary V10 Spyder presented in 2011 to the R8GT, which was not to be surpassed in detail and perfection. For the successor of the Audi R8 with 550HP, besides the rims and exhaust systems of course also electronic power increases, ie Chiptuning were developed. With the model change in 2016 to the current R8 V10 and V10 Plus with 540 HP and 610 HP, Wheelsandmore did not leave it only with exhaust systems and software optimization and presented in spring 2017 a compressor conversion for the R8 with a total performance of 802PS for the Audi R8. In 2013, Wheelsandmore implemented W-Technology, a division specifically for performance vehicles from Audi Sport GmbH, BMW M GmbH and Jaguar.
Programs for premium Audi Tuning
Similar to the Audi R8 V10 from 2016, the Luxunun for the Audi RS4 and the RS5 with original 450HP developed a compressor kit which increases the engine power to official 600HP and 590Nm of torque. Thus by Wheelsandmore it was already possible in 2014 with an Audi RS4 or Audi RS5 to achieve the performance of the Audi RS6 and RS7 with performance package. For the latter two Audi models, a correspondingly adequate increase in performance had to be developed. In addition to modified turbochargers, downpipes and a correspondingly modified flap system, Wheelsandmore has been offering a powerful increase in 820 HP and 980 Nm torque for the 4.0 V8 Bi-Turbo RS engine since 2016.
All power increases are of course developed extensively on the performance test stand and later tested under real conditions in long-term tests. The tuner from the Rhenish Baesweiler near Düsseldorf now also gives a guarantee promise in the course of supplementary insurance. The modification is of course also for the top sedan S8 The tuning professionals are currently working on a 23 inch solution for the current Audi SQ7, so that the top SUVs from Ingolstadt will be able to adorn the boulevards of this earth even more finely and nobly.
